Thermacool Metal Core PCB Base Laminate material is an insulated metal clad substrate, comprising of three layers: A base plate made of Aluminium at the bottom 1.0W/mL dielectric layer 120μm thickness, consisting of glass fabric combined with a mixture from epoxy resin and ceramic(s). 35μm thick copper foil on the upper side. Between the two layers there is an electrically isolating layer 120μm thickness, consisting of glass fabric combined with a mixture from epoxy resin and ceramic(s). The middle layer givers a very good thermal conduction at 1.0W/mK, a high dielectric strength, and a continuous high temperature resistance. Processing of this type of board is carried out in the conventional manner. There is only one difference: The Aluminium must be covered when developing or etching the board, in order to prevent contact between the Aluminium and the developer or Etchant. Aluminium Based PCBs, compared to traditional FR4 substrates, offer many advantages and are widely used in electronic engineering. This substrate use a high-thermal-conductivity aluminium alloy, providing excellent heat dissipation to reduce component working temperature and enhance device reliability. They are lighter than FR4 substrates, beneficial in weight-sensitive applications like aerospace and automotive. Aluminium substrates are also stronger and more durable, offering good impact and vibration resistance, suitable for challenging environments. They possess excellent insulation and voltage resistance, meeting diverse electrical requirements in various working environments. These substrates are eco-friendly, pollution-free in production, and recyclable, aligning with current environmental trends. LED lighting is a primary application area for Aluminium Based PCBs. Aluminium Based PCBs ensure the stable operation and longevity of LEDs by effectively dissipating the heat generated during use. With the increasing use of electronic components in automobiles, the lightweight, superior heat dissipation, and electrical properties of Aluminium Based PCB make them ideal for automotive electronic applications. They are also crucial in new energy sectors like solar and wind power, aiding in efficient energy conversion and stability of solar panels. Additionally, in power electronics like inverters, Aluminium Based PCBs ensure stability under high power density, and their reliability makes them preferred in industrial automation control systems. Common applications for this type of material are:- Ultra bright LED Substrate Hybrid Power Conversion Electronic Communication circuits PDP, LED, Regulator for TV Monitor Drives Automotive electronics (Vehicle lightning, regulator, converters, power module) Rectifiers, Power Supplies Areas requiring high heat dissipation from the circuit Supplied in 305 x 457mm size sheets.
